Goodbye May...

It's a bright morning to end the month of May.  With any luck, this will be a do nothing day.  Next week will be busy with 1st of the month stuff, bills & appointments.  For now though, it's just sunny.

I'm trying to look on the brighter side of things, but lately that's been difficult.  With the weather, my SAD, the orange stain & Oklahoma BS, it's pretty hard to be optimistic.  It'd be great if a lot of people wearing red hats would just fall over.

That's all for now, Goodbye May.

At Least It's Sunny...

There isn't much going on as this last Friday of May.  It's actually sunny this morning, which is a change.  The next few days are supposed to be light then the storms will roll back into the area.

There isn't much on our to-do list today.  It'll be end of the week shopping & a few errands.  That's about it.

Take care.

Morning Yuck Again...

Th weather still isn't cooperating & we could have more rain today.  There were people doing roofing nearby yesterday.  It was a lot of debris & banging.  Later the lawn guy showed up & mowed.  There's a lot of crap in the air.  I couldn't do anymore yard stuff.  I did it after he mowed last time & it's been dreary ever since.  The spray I use needs sunshine to kick in.  I have no idea what it has or hasn't done.  Maybe next time.

All this has left me coughing this morning.   It's been a bit since we've had a nice morning.  It'll probably hop from this dismal crap to blazing.  No joy there.

That's all for now, take care.

Unexpected...

I've been on Lamivudine my entire HIV treatment.  It was developed in the late 80's & patented in 1995.   It is an antiviral medication used primarily in treating HIV & hepatitis.

Sometimes older meds are found to be beneficial in other illnesses.   This article details such an instance between Lamivudine & Diabetic Macular Edema.  Early research has shown this med is performing better than the standard regimen, an eye injection.

Give the piece a read, it's an interesting development.   That's all for now, take care.

Unheard...

I sort of found an article this morning.  Actually, I've noticed a repeating topic in articles.  None of them stay on the subject long enough to bother citing.  The matter is that many HIV patients feel unheard by their healthcare providers.   Even if everything is going well & they're satisfied with their provider, many still feel as if they, themselves & their situations aren't really being heard, seen or addressed.

Part of the problem is patient's don't always know how, or that they even can push to be better heard.  Some of it is, doctors aren't really trained to hear their patients, but only examine them from a medical perspective.   The matter only worsens over time.

This situation isn't unique to HIV patients.  Many people, especially the chronically ill, often get shuffled along.   Many pieces address how this is worse for older patients, women, people of color & those who can't easily communicate.

We need to teach people, as patients,  to advocate for themselves.  For those with these patients, it's important to know when it's necessary to stand up for them.   Doctors need to understand these people are individuals, not toy blocks that all stack the same way.   Lack of communication is the issue.  Maybe it can be remedied.

Not Well...

I don't feel well this morning.  This month has been rough.  It was dark all day yesterday & stormed.  The storms lasted throughout the night.  Between all that, we had around 3".  That about doubles our monthly rainfall average for the month.   The rest of the month looks to be dark & there may be more rain.

Somehow, allergens are still high.  There's been a lot of noise from animals, neighbors & trains.  Sleep hasn't been the easiest & waking's been even harder.

May didn't get the memo about being a bright month.  It's still lingering the dark of the year.  There's not much left of the month to do better.  May, you've sucked.

That's all for now.

May Ick...

It's supposed to be Mayfest not Maysuck.  This month has been crap as far as the weather.  Sure, it's been cooler, but it's been dark, storming & muggy for most of the month.  It was dark this morning & we're expecting more storms this evening.   That's pretty much what's on call for the remainder of May & into June.

I'm dealing the allergies, people burning crap & SAD.  This sucks.  The grass is growing & the bugs are flourishing.  The only high point hear is that we're not using much electricity for cooling.

Articles were still mostly absent, so this is it.   Take care.
