Recovery Day...

 

OK, even though everything with my roomie's appointment has seemingly gone well, it was still a rough day.  It started way too early, after barely any sleep, the hot day started.  From there, it just hotter,  longer & more tiring.  

We got back earlier than expected, but it was overwhelming.  The temps hit 100+ early & didn't drop til sundown, then the humidity climbed.  August, looks to seriously hot & dry.  We've still had no rain & there isn't any in the forecast.

Ugh, Failed Rain...

 

It got hot yesterday, about a 100°.  Then the temps dropped & we got a decent little dump of rain.  It dropped the temp down to the low 80s.  Then the rain stopped & the humidity ramped up.  That was actually worse than when it was 20° hotter.  I'll be glad when this heat dome moves on.  It's been a hazy, humid hell. 

The AC might not be on as early today.  We'll see.  Take care.

Trampled...

 

My nerves are colliding with the heat, iffy sleep & life in general.   It's leaving me on edge.  I feel rattled & off about everything.  Every little thing is poking at me & testing what little nerve I have left.  To make things worse, I'm feeling worn out.  I wake up, get around & I'm already spent.  I need a breather just to get ready to shower.  Shopping isn't going to be fun today.  

The next couple of days are supposed to be +100°.  We didn't need to hit the century mark this year, but we've been here for a bit.  Hopefully, they stay in July.

This is the end of the month, it's been busy.  There's been a lot not normally on our plate.  My roomie has an appointment this afternoon.  Tuesday we took the car it had heat issues on Monday while we were running errands.  We got it back yesterday.   They had to replace the radiator.  There's another $550+ adding to an already expensive Summer.   Tomorrow will be shopping.   It's a busy week for us.

Goodbye July.   A couple of weather sites say we hit 100°.  Some others weren't quite to the century mark.  Either way it was hot.

The 4th...

 

The holiday is here & so there's no mail or bank.   It's been odd this year.   Normally a few weeks before the 4th, the bangs start going off in our neighborhood.  Not this year.  Some people have moved in & out, but not that many.  There haven't been hardly any sounds of fireworks until last night.   Even that wasn't much.  It was uncommon enough, we wondered what it was for a bit.  Maybe fireworks are too expensive this year.  Maybe people are just too hot & tired.  There's still tonight & a bit.

It happened, we actually hit 100°.  I'm not happy about it, but it happened.  The lawn guy actually mowed yesterday.  He came on the hottest day we'd had so far this year.  It's done.  Maybe as hot & dry as it is, the lawn will die back some.

100 Maybe...

 

About half the weather sites say we reached 100°  F yesterday.  Some of the others topped out at 98.  Some recent Summers we haven't even seen the century mark.  It isn't going to be like this time around.  It looks like passing 100 will be fairly common this season.  Great, we didn't need that.  

That's about it for me this morning.  It's bright, hot & humid.  The last item needs to be dropped.  The humidity's what kills you.  Heat's no fun, but muggy air is worse.
