It got hot yesterday, about a 100°. Then the temps dropped & we got a decent little dump of rain. It dropped the temp down to the low 80s. Then the rain stopped & the humidity ramped up. That was actually worse than when it was 20° hotter. I'll be glad when this heat dome moves on. It's been a hazy, humid hell.
The AC might not be on as early today. We'll see. Take care.

July's in full swing. Most of the bills are paid & the water bill would've been if the city hall hadn't closed on Friday. I get they wanted a 3 day weekend, but they should've posted about on the website or facebook.
The 4th is over & it rained last night. It blew most the smoke away. That was a change. The smelly, haze from the fireworks normally lingers for hours. There'll still be some people setting things off for a bit, but the lion's share of it should be over.
Later in the week is supposed to get hot. I suppose we should count ourselves fortunate that it took this long to get here. July has arrived.

June has been a lackluster month again. It could've easily passed April with the rain, storms & gloom. I guess sunny Junes are a thing of the past. I wonder how wedding traditionalists feel about that. A July wedding it is then.

It poured over an inch more rain last night. We're near, if not over double the monthly rainfall. That left this morning dark & hazy. I doubt there will be any sunlight today, just a harsh glare through the clouds. Upside to this, is the temperature should be lower.
Not much going on here. I've somehow hurt my left hand. It was sore most of yesterday. It's still a little sore this morning. Hopefully, this will calm down. I really don't need another health issue.

This crappy 2026 Spring continues with more haze, drear & storms. It's gotten hot, but any light has been fleeting. This muggy, dark mess sucks. It rained more last night. A little more & it'll double the monthly rainfall average.
Neither of us felt well yesterday. I wound up forgetting something we planned on doing. It'll have to get handled this morning on top of all the normal Friday stuff. Way to go me, make more of a mess for yourself.
I need to get around. We have shopping & errands. Hopefully nothing else pops up.

It's the 1st of the month, time to handle bills & errands. I need to pick up meds today. We're hoping to get the lawn mowed soon. It looks like a meadow. But it keeps raining & drenching everything. It dumped over an inch yesterday. This stupid version of June is supposed to be rain happy & dark. So much for dealing with SAD.

There was no call for dark, noisy storms this morning, but here they are. Waking this morning has been a challenge. The bad part of all this, even though the storms won't stop & the skies won't clear, there hasn't been that much precipitation. We're still short of the monthly rainfall average.
May hasn't been a bad month, but it certainly hasn't been good time either. I don't why I keep looking for good times. Those haven't been a thing for while now.

My medical appointment went as expected, no surprises. I scheduled the next time. Now on to my midweek dental cleaning. Then my stuff can be handled for a bit.
Yet another dental office is being reported as a possible exposure site for HIV. This piece says a Philadelphia dentist office had possible exposures of bodily fluids between patients. More details haven't been provided at this time.
I finally sleep well after 3 nights. It'd been nice to wake up to a nice day, but no. It's still raining & dark. May have been such a sucky, dark month the last few years.

I didn't sleep that well again. It was better than the night before, but not great. Right before shutting down last night, Windows decided it didn't like a program I've used for years. It won't even let it open anymore. So far, I haven't found a workaround. I looked for replacements & I may have found somethings, we'll see if any work.
Then it decided to storm more last night. Between yesterday & last night, we got about 2". There's more rain in the forecast for the end of the month. We're still short some for our monthly average.
This morning there was lots of outside noise. It was too cool for a fan, so there was no buffer sound. The outdoor cats had a standoff as well. Let there not be a moment of peace & quiet.

Twice this week we drove by someone mowing/dealing with their yard. That's expected this time of year. But when we went by these yards they had something in them that sent me into coughing, sneezing fit. Both times the coughing & sneezing last for some time. This messed with me for hours.
We've had a ton of rain, but that didn't help with these issues. Actually, it made them worse. I don't know if the moisture set something off or caused some mold. But the rain didn't wash the matter away.
It's hazy & we're expecting more rain today. We don't need more & I'd be fine if it didn't. There's been little sunshine this week. Oh well, there's always something to gripe about with the weather.

In a little over a week, there's been a nearly 50° temperature swing, astounding pollen levels, storms, winds, hail & over 3.5" of rain. This hasn't been an easy mid-month. Most of it's cooler than normal, hazy & humid. It's making pulling out of SAD very difficult. The rain's needed, the rest of it was just crap. Dark mornings, weird light & storm tension have left me a little rattled. It'd be nice just to have bright, nothing days.
I did see some articles that looked interesting. Paywalls blocked them both. Maybe I'll see the topic somewhere else soon. I know these people need to get paid & that I'm always low on funds. But, I doubt very many people could pay for all these paywalls even if they wanted to. Who cares if they've got great information if no one ever sees it?

It dumped over 2" on us yesterday in a mix of hard rain, wind & hail. It was dark & loud. When it passed, the sky stayed yellow until sunset. We have chances for more heavy rain storms tonight. The monthly rainfall averages have been met.
It's April & sometime during this month is our cat, Millie's birthday. She turned 10 this year. Not a kitten anymore. Happy Birthday little boop cat.

Not a great morning for waking. It's dark & has been storming for a bit. Our area can't just do rain showers anymore, it's always got to be storms. This has been loud & dark. I have to go shopping in a bit. That won't be fun.
We're getting to the end of April & it hasn't been a great Spring. There's still a lot going on that we have no real idea about. Hard to make a plan without any solid info.

The yard work of 2026 has begun. April 1 was the 1st mowing & spraying. There'll be more of both. It rained last night, so it'll be a bit before I can handle bugs & any plant stuff that needs hauled to the curb.
I was already not feeling good. Add weed spray, mowing, pollen, wind, etc... & I'm pretty done in for the moment. I'll get over it, but it's going to take a bit.

It's been raining since yesterday & shows little sign of heading out soon. It's dark this morning. Even with this rain, my allergies are still acting up. We do need the rain, but not the storms or darkness.
There won't be much happening today. I have no interest in going out in this mess. Bills have been mostly handled. The rest hasn't show up yet.
My telemed appointment went alright. It was a bit brief, but the new doctor didn't seem comfortable with the camera. Now, I wait for them to set the next appointment.

The spotlight of the mid month focused on Valentine's Day & a little over 2" of rain. It's still overcast & the rain chilled us down some. Then again it's still Winter. February is usually our roughest month, but March isn't always easy.
The only article I saw that looked interesting turned out to be just an abstract. I never found the actual piece, but the topic was interesting. It was concerning adolescent & young adult (AYA) involvement with the fight against HIV. While most cases of HIV are now 50+, among the new transmissions, this group between 10 - 30, is the most apt to test HIV+. Since so many 1st wave HIV fighters have fallen or aged out, these people's engagement is very important, if not critical. I hope to see more on this topic.

This will be a short post. It's dark. We could get rain today & we need it. This area didn't meet it's monthly average for January & there hasn't been any precipitation this month. I hope it does enough to cover the difference, then move on out of here.
Saw a blip of an article at HIV.gov. It was about the importance of pharmacist concerning HIV. I've often trusted my pharmacist over my doctor. Meds are their area & they tend to better informed. Check with your pharmacy & see what services they offer. I bet it's more than just getting orders refilled.

My appointment went well. She did a routine thyroid test. It's a little out of range for this lab, but not bad. It's been higher & my meds weren't altered. Overall, it went smoothly. It's just the day that sucked. We get over an inch of rain.
It's brighter this morning, but we're heading into cooler weather. Midweek could be getting into frigid, overnight temps again. It'd be nice if it didn't or at least not last long.
Thanksgiving is next Thursday & Christmas is a little over month out. Nothing feels like the holidays any more. I see stuff at the store, but it doesn't feel like anything but a cash grab. Maybe that's all it ever was.
