Belated Yule...

The weekend threw me off my days.  Yesterday was the shortest day of 2025 at 9 hours & 47 minutes.  We'll gain a whole minute today.  Winter is both seasonally & meteorologically here.   9 days remain in 2025.  Add 3 more & it's this blog's & my HIV diagnosis' anniversary.   There are 76 days until Daylight Saving Time returns & about 88 days left until the Spring equinox.

I hope this season brings you what you need.  It'd be nice knowing it was kind to someone or something.  I think we've lost another yard cat.  We called her Goblin.  She was from the cursed line.  A tabby male may be her uncle, but I can't get a good look at him.  All these tabbies look alike at a distance.   There's a yellow male, Sharkling, left from her litter mates.  He's the last remaining & he knows it.  He's gotten very skittish.

My roomie got a lot of things underway this year.  The white car is no longer our issue.  She's got plans.  I won't say the year was easy on her, but she fared better than me.  I didn't fare horribly, but not well either.   Each year just takes more & at some point there won't be any more to lose.

Like it or not (I don't), Winter is here.

Happy Solstice...

Yule is here.  It's supposed to be a time of light & being merry.  I'm not sure how that's going for everyone.  This is the long night.  From here out the daylight will start lasting longer.  We've gained a couple of minutes in the afternoon, but mornings are still coming later.  Things won't really start leveling out until mid January.

I know 2025 brings issues for many of us, but I hope you can find some comfort in the season.  Take care.

Happy Solstice, Winter is here.  The King slumbered as Holly, but woke as Oak.

Winter Solstice, Yule & Cats Past...

It's actually Winter, not just the meteorological season that starts with December.  Yule is upon us & may it be good for you & yours.  It's a time to acknowledge the longest night & welcome the return of the lengthening days.

While Yule may be about lights & festivities, it's also about cleaning house & finishing things needing to be handled before the new year.  It's a time to remember the past & look forward to the coming days.  It's a time to cherish those with us & call up the memories of those no longer here.

This time, last year our 19 y.o. cat Tinkerbell passed.  She passed nearly a decade after the only cat she ever loved, Alice.  Below our their pictures.  Tink is the siamese.

There are the girls that found their way to the other side just as Yule was starting.  I guess a lady does always know when it's time leave.  Sometimes the season brings good tidings,  sometimes it takes them.  I wish them both the very best in their next lives.

Take care, Happy Yule.

Happy Solstice...

The Solstice is here, may good things come to us all this Yuletide.  Fall is gone & Winter has arrived arrived.   Here's to the Holly King, may he not stay long.

There are only 4 days until Christmas & 10 left in this year.  What are you going to do with them?   Past the new year, this blog & my HIV have an anniversary.   It's funny what winds up defining your life.

So say goodbye to Autumn & greet the new season.  Make as much peace as you can with 2021.  Soon, it will be a memory.   Look at me, trying to be positive in a post.  Weird, huh?  Take care.

Solstice...

Today is the Solstice.  Autumn has fallen & Winter is here.  It's the longest night of the year.  There's supposed to be a "Christmas Star" shortly after sun down tonight.  Light lights, sing songs & remember those not with you as we edge back towards the light of the year.

I had to call in a script & we'll go shopping soon.  The holiday will alter our normal routine.  That's OK.  Maybe people will get a little joy this week.  They need it.

Take care, be kind, be safe & Happy Holidays.

Yuletide...

It's Yule & Winter is here.   The shortest, darkest days of the year are upon us.  Slowly the days will last longer, but for now sunrises will come later & later.  This is when waking up gets really hard.  Grey mornings are not good for such things.

We'll spend today trying to stay warm.  We'll go shopping tomorrow & run an errand.  Tuesday is Christmas Eve & Wednesday's Christmas movie day.   Best wishes to us & you.  May your holidays be bright & cheery.

Winter Yule...

Yule time is here again.  It's now officially Winter.  So long Fall.  Now, the real cold begins.  I hope we don't get too frigid this season.  Just kill the bugs & the grass.

That's all for now,  Take care.  Best wishes for whatever holiday you celebrate.
