More Storms...

It dumped over 2" on us yesterday in a mix of hard rain, wind & hail.   It was dark & loud.  When it passed, the sky stayed yellow until sunset.   We have chances for more heavy rain storms tonight.  The monthly rainfall averages have been met.

It's April & sometime during this month is our cat, Millie's birthday.  She turned 10 this year.  Not a kitten anymore.  Happy Birthday little boop cat.

Take care.

Tiring Tuesday...

Yesterday sucked.  I had to get up early & try to call DHS about Summer energy assistance.   I didn't have to call in the past, it just happened for me because of disability.  I called at 7 AM when the lines opened.  For 2 hours they played horrid, on-hold music.  Periodically, it'd say the estimated wait time.  It started at & stayed at 0 minutes.  At 9 AM it cut me off.  When I called back, the message said it was congested & couldn't take my call.  I tried this morning & it was the same.  I did the application online, but that can weird.  I prefer over the phone.   I guess we'll see how this goes.

We took Millie, our cat, to the vet.  She's been a bit off.  They charged a lot to tell us she seems fine.  I hope she is.

We get home & it's hot & humid.  Just walking inside covered my face in sweat.  Then I saw bees have returned.  It's time to get them to move on again.  It takes a bit to get them to leave.

Yesterday was  exhausting.  That's it for now.   Take care.

Trying...

We've had a few decent days & hope it holds.  Our indoor cat, Millie, tried to crash that this morning.  She's been running out a lot in the last month.  I'm to the point, I don't care why & over chasing her.  It's like she may well be an outdoor cat again soon.  If she does that, there will be no special runs to the vet for her.  If I knew someone that needed a barn cat, I'd take her there.  I can't & won't chase her anymore.  When she did this morning.  I yelled for a couple of times & then shut the door.  I looked back a bit later & she ran in.   I'm over this with her.   She's nearly 7 & should be over most this BS.  If she goes out, she won't last long.  She doesn't know the area & that will be that.

That's all for now.   Cat or not, I'll try to have a decent day even if it is grey outside.

Last Sunday In April...

It's the last week of April 2020.   Sometime this month Millie Cat turned 4. She doesn't act it.  She's very kittenish.  This month hasn't been easy.

The shut-down may not have physically impacted  us like other people, but the stress is still there.  My roomie has a lot more invested in this than me.  I don't have many people to worry about.

I get why a lot of people want to go back to normal.  I don't think it's going to happen the way they want.  I'll be happy when the nerves recede & people can stop being on edge.  I won't miss the barrage of commercials. COVID may have forced people indoors, but it's like being near a buzzing hive.

Take care.

Yesterday...

The new cat is showing her roots.  Once in a while, she reminds she wasn't raised indoors.  She & I have are  warring over her decision to imitate an alarm clock way too early in the morning.  Now, when she sounds off, I swat at her like hitting the snooze button.

She made a it of a mess yesterday & we had to go to Fort Smith to get the means to fix it.   Luckily, it was a cooler day & the trip went well.  We got there, got what we needed & got home.  The trip was easy & didn't exhaust me.  I wish more trips were like this.

It's supposed to heat up again tomorrow.  Luckily not too much.  Then it's supposed to be relatively cool for Summer over the following week or so.   We'll see if the forecast holds up.

Take care.

Grey Skies...

I woke to grey skies this morning.  Unfortunately, they have a lot of yellow to them.   Around here, that's generally a good sign of bad weather.   We have to be out today.  That should be fun.  They're forecasting strong storms.

My computer started alright this morning.  I hope it was just a glitch & not some unwanted portent of of things to come.  The kitten is doing better.  Getting back to her normal, obnoxious level of energy.   She's recently 2, so this kitteness should be fading.

The allergens are horrid.  It was really warm last night, but the weekend is supposed to have overnights just above freezing.   Oh Yippie!

That's about all.  I have to be out of here soon & I have things to do before I go.

Last Saturday...

That went fast.  It's already the last January Saturday of 2018.    Not much going on today.   The weather has been all over the place & it's been hard to adjust to for everyone in the house.  It rained last night.   It still feels wet today.

Yesterday was a month since Millie the cat's, person last showed.  She's been inside since the 1st of the month.  The other outdoor cats know the area & where to get during cold weather.  She didn't.  I don't how long this will last.   Millie's always been an outdoor cat & gets really bored indoors.

That's about it for now.  Maybe the weather will pick a direction & my head will be able to calm down a bit.  I doubt it, but it could happen.

It's The 1st...

It's the 1st day of a new year.  I hope it's kind to us all.  We could use that.  I'm writing early because we're having lunch with a friend.  Last night was frigid.  It's still in the teens this morning.  This looks to be what's here for a few days.

The outdoor cat, Millie, came in last night.  I'm glad.  She left this morning.  I guess there was only so much of the indoors she could handle.  I hope she does well.  I get how Millie feels.  It may be warm in that house, but what's the catch?  What if my person comes back & I miss him?

I'm not good with stops & starts.  There's a lot of emotion in them I'd rather not face.  But, here we are again.  I'm uncertain & apprehensive.  Maybe, we can make it through this year better than last.

Best wishes in 2018.
