1st Of The Season...

Yesterday started off OK.  We went shopping, checked mail & got something to eat.   Mid afternoon, my body decided it was a good time for some gastrointestinal distress.  My nose had been running all morning, then I got queasy, soon after it was a day of bathroom  trips & diarrhea.   What set things off? Who knows, it could have been my meds, HIV, heat, something else entirely.   I'm hoping that's run its course.

Yesterday was the 1st day of the AC for us.  It helped, especially with how my stomach was acting.  Having stomach issues during the Summer, is kind of torturous.

Summer's here, so are it's issues & the AC.  Take care.

Another Grey Morning...

It's gloomy here again.  Often it's only getting bright a little before sundown.  A lot of good that does.   I hate these mornings.  I'm trying to get myself going & these clouds are making everything dreary.  They just linger making it muggy.

I'm through about half of the Winter wash.  I'll finish the rest of it this week.  Hopefully, it doesn't cool down again, but the rest of the month has storms in the forecast.

It was warm enough for me to use a fan for the 1st time overnight.   It was a little much & I'll have to watch when I use it as humid as it's been.  I don't need to catch a cold.  I mainly used it to move some stuffy air & buffer outside noise.

That's about it for now, take care.

Gloomy Tuesday...

Not much happening this 1st Tuesday of May.  It's cloudy & will probably be dark all day  Forecasts keep changing on any chances for rain.  We'll deal with the last of the of house bills & run some errands.  That should wrap things up.

That's all I have this morning.  I need to get around so we can go handle the monthlies.

Take care.

It Begins...

The yard work of 2026 has begun.  April 1 was the 1st mowing & spraying.  There'll be more of both.  It rained last night, so it'll be a bit before I can handle bugs & any plant stuff that needs hauled to the curb.

I was already not feeling good.  Add weed spray, mowing, pollen, wind, etc... & I'm pretty done in for the moment.  I'll get over it, but it's going to take a bit.

That's all for now, hopefully no more early runs for a bit.  I need the sleep.  Take care.

1st Full Week...

It figures the 1st week of 2026 is ending on a trash day.   This is the 1st haul of garbage to the curb of the year.  It's back to our normal date.  The last 2 weeks got bumped to Saturday due to holidays.   At least we didn't have to deal with the not having trash hauled off for 3 weeks.  That would've been a mess.

There's more appointments for my roomie today.  Those might start slowing down in a week or so.  She's handling a lot right now.

I used to worry, that if something were to happen to me, she'd have a hard time.  Not just with me not being there, but the day to day stuff.  I think she's getting to where that might not be easy on her, but she could handle it.  If not right this moment, then in the foreseeable future.  That makes things a little more secure.

That's it for now, take care.  Goodbye 1st week of 2026.

1st Busy Tuesday...

It's the 1st Tuesday of 2026 & it's going to be busy.  There's an appointment & a bill in Fort Smith.  There are errands to handle when we get back; mail, pharmacy & the like.  We need to be around a little earlier than normal, so this will be brief.

Hope this 1st week of 2026 is treating everyone well.

Blog New Year...

This is the 1st day of the blog's new year.  There are usually a lot of issues near this day; my pharmacy having issues with my meds, recovering from COVID, my father passing, bad weather, plumber issues...  It'd be nice to skip that this year.

We don't have anything planned today.  We started bill stuff yesterday & will finish most of it tomorrow.  There's are appointments this week, some errands, & my roomie will see a friend.  It'll be a busy week again.

That's all for now, take care.

Shared Issue...

There are many angles being researched in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  Improving the means to detect, treat, eradicate & hopefully cure the virus.  Including new & novel medications, gene therapy, stem cells, antibodies, various techniques, etc...

These approaches vary,  but all share some issues.  HIV is a difficult problem to solve.  Research takes time, skill & funds.  The orange stain & his idiots have gutted funding.  Who knows how much damage this administration has done to HIV & medical research?  These were deliberate choices to bring harm to those with HIV & other illnesses.

The shutdown may be ending.  I'm not sure what all this will mean.  The timeline for things is still unknown.  It'd be nice if it were now.

That's it for now, take care.

PS - Last night was the 1st night we went below freezing, had faucets dripping & had a stove on overnight.  Looks to be the same tonight.

1st November Tuesday 2025...

This 1st week of November is filled with stuff to handle.  We handled most of the bills yesterday.  We should handle the rest today.  My roomie has a lot of appointments throughout this month & I have 2.  I have a regular meeting with my medical provider & a cleaning scheduled with my dentist.

It's the beginning of holiday season.  Halloween's done.  There 23 days until Thanksgiving & 51 before Christmas.  Next Tuesday is Veteran's Day.  The mail's going to be so off.  Not that we get much anymore since most of ours went online.

The shutdown is ongoing & the benefit situation is still not settled.  There are some elections happening across the states today.  We'll see how that plays out.

That's all for now.  Take care.

1st Cold Of The Season...

Yesterday was the 1st time we had the front room stove going.  It wasn't freezing, but it was definitely cold.  We usually need to have it going somewhere from here to mid November.  There was a year that it didn't get lit until Thanksgiving, but that only happened once.  Windows are closed, no fans, blanket are out & stoves are lit.  That's never a good combination for my eyes or breathing.  It's back to the time of year I have to decide, do I want to breathe or be warm?

Tomorrow's Halloween.  Yay, I suppose.  This used to be a big day for me, not so much for years.   I'm not warring with holidays any more, but they just don't seem to matter.  If anything, they're sort of a nuisance & the mail doesn't run.  I'm not seeing upsides to them anymore.  They're just reminders that I haven't been in on the joke in years.  Nothing feels like the holidays anymore.  It feels like people are celebrating nostalgia more than the holiday, glory days & all that.

The shutdown BS is still ongoing.  There's no sign of any change soon.  It'd be nice for once in my life not to be on losing team that all these people seem to hate.  Guess it's a little late for that.

That's all for now, take care.

Mid Month Thursday...

It's mid July & yesterday was the 1st day we had to use the AC.  It's going to stay hot for the duration.  As of yet, nothing's on the list of to-do's today.   Maybe that'll hold.

The trash has been picked up.  The removal of bees is ongoing.  I'm still worn out from the beginning of the week.  We have shopping tomorrow.

That's about it for now.   Take care.

Summer 1st...

The oddest thing in the yard lately has been a groundhog.  It roams the yard eating the clover & other plants.  It's sort of cute in a fat, squirrelish way.

I got a surprise this morning.  It was so small & quick, I barely saw it.  But for a few seconds a tiny hummingbird flitted near the crepe myrtle in the back.   Judging by its size & lack of distinctive color, it was either a small female or juvenile.  I used to see a lot of hummers.  Last year I only saw a few.  The way things are going, this may be my only little hummer of the season.  I hope not.

Summer's rolling along.  So far it hasn't been too hot.  It's stayed very hazy in the mornings.  That's not god for waking or seeing.

I need my hummers, dragons, porch cats & other little creatures.   I saw a lizard on the back screen.  Those lizards & the geckos could be back soon.  These little beings give me something to focus on, a distraction.  They help me not fixate on the crap going on around us.  They let me stay in the moment, the now & somewhat sane.

Well that's it for the 6th of July.   Take care.

Summer Is Here...

June has traded dark, dreary & wet for bright & steamy.  The temps aren't really that high.  But following all that rain, it's muggy as hell.  The high humidity could be with us for a while until the heat burns some of it off.

Here's hoping Summer is light & easy.  I'd like it hot & dry enough to kill bugs & grass.  That generally doesn't happen any more, but it'd be nice if the bugs died off.

I hope your Midsommer went well.  Happy Summer.

Day After 1st Of The Year...

Again, another nothing day got interrupted.  This really pisses me off.  The stuff that happens could happen on any other day, but no, it has to happen on a day I just wanted to do nothing.  I'm tired of being understanding about it, knowing things need to get done, etc... BS BS BS.

I was spent & just need a bright day of nothing to recharge.  It was going well until I heard the lawn guy mowing.  There went my day.  Now I had to deal with yard crap.  This yard is just another thing in my life that I seriously hate.  After all the noise, dust, debris, sprays & traipsing around the yard, I feel like crap.

The damned yard is mowed, the skies are grey, it may storm & I feel like crap.  Another great damned midweek.

1st December Friday...

This is the 4th to last Friday of 2024.  We have shopping to handle this morning.  It got fairly cold last night, but the next few nights should be a bit warmer.  We don't have much planned.  I hope nothing pops up demanding attention.

I guess that's about it for now.  I didn't see much in the way of articles.  Maybe everything is winding down for the year.

More tomorrow.  Take care.

As Ready As I'm Going To Get...

We had the 1st serious colder night.  It didn't quite get below freezing, but still.  The freezing temps are supposed to happen later in the week.  The full, seasonal load of blankets went on the bed & it was the 1st night with the heater.

Even with the heater on low, it takes some getting used to.  The heaters & blankets are necessary, but they're hell on me.  They mess with eyes, skin & breathing.  I overslept, after sleeping weird.  I was dehydrated to the point of low blood pressure & a nose bleed.  Hello Winter, I hate you.

The holiday is almost here.  I'm already over it & wish they were just done already.  They'll mean nothing for me except annoyance & missed mail.  Maybe, I feel better about them next year.

That's all for now, take care.

Dovato...

I'll take my Dovato for the 1st time today.  This is a link to Dovato's site.  I shouldn't have any problems with this medication.  Both meds in it are in Triumeq.   This is the same minus Abacavir.   Some people are hypersensitive to Abacavir.  According to research coming out for a bit now, it looks like this med can lead to heart issues in some people.

Points for the new med.  It's much smaller.  Abacavir was the largest component of Triumeq.  The bottle itself is about an inch shorter.  I'm already on these meds.  The med has 5+ years on the market, so it's been around longer in research.  There are a lot of articles comparing efficacy of Dovato to other meds & found the medication to be non-inferior.  I hate that phrasing. Why not say, as good or performs the same?

Another point here, if Abacavir is found to be too problematic, they will probably pull it & any meds containing it.   Triumeq could be on its last legs.  I was on it for 7+ years.  I only started Triumeq because the manufacturers stopped producing Didanosine.  That happened with Fortovase as well.  I had to stop taking Combivir because of AZT.  This is the 1st time I've opted to make a change.  It feels weird.

Here's hoping for a good outcome with Dovato.  Take care.

1st Week Of June...

The 1st week of the month is almost over.  The weather & other things have conspired to make this week a little tiring.   Maybe that'll get better.  All we have today is shopping.  Then we'll check the mail & come home.

That's all for this morning.  Most of the articles were merely rehashing points I've already posted over a lot.   Take care.

1st Week...

We made it through the 1st week of 2024.  Only 51 more to go.  There were some stressful hiccups, but overall it wasn't bad.  House bills are handled, we did shopping & trash, no one is sick, we even had an outing.  So, I'll take this week.  It may not be a winner, but it went well enough.  There were some issues, plans were made, the issues were resolved.  We didn't need the plans, but they were made.  So good for us.

It's bright this morning.   Seriously cold weather is supposed to be heading our way soon.  I wish it wasn't, but that's Winter.

2024, we don't need tried every week with whatever the universe has.  We don't need testing every month or even every year.  We're good.  2023 caught us for quite some time.  I'm sure other people are in need of some serious testing.  Give them a go.

Frosted...

The 1st snow of the season happened.   It was above freezing, so this is mostly just white slush setting on the ground.  It's already melted off everything but the grass.  I wish I could say I like snow, but I don't.  It's just a reminder it's Winter.  It also makes my roomie panicky.  It's just another thing we didn't need in our lives.  It's here & no one asked us, so we'll have to deal with it.

The 1st work week of the year is nearly over.  It's been alright so far.  It's the season of mail interruptions.  Even with the holidays, over there's still MLK & President's Day coming.   Monday mail holidays are a pain.

That's all for now.  We'll head out soon to handle shopping & the remaining bills.  I need to pick meds as well.  That's our day, errands in the cold drear.

Take care.
