Getting Things Started...

We'll handle bank stuff, some bills, groceries & errands today.  With the holiday & the way the month fell, we'll need to do more today than normal.  Monday's mail is already late arriving.  With the Saturday holiday it may be really delayed.

As far as I know this stuff will be all we have to handle today.  That's be OK, it's getting hot.   We don't have any plans for the holidays, we haven't in years.

That's it for now, take care.

1st Busy Tuesday...

It's the 1st Tuesday of 2026 & it's going to be busy.  There's an appointment & a bill in Fort Smith.  There are errands to handle when we get back; mail, pharmacy & the like.  We need to be around a little earlier than normal, so this will be brief.

Hope this 1st week of 2026 is treating everyone well.

Still Busy...

This is another filled day.  We have to get the car back.  Here's hoping it works.  There's errands, a bill, mail & a trip to the bank.  That's not counting taking trash to the curb.   I hope tomorrow is a nothing day.

Anyway, I need to get around.  It'd be really nice if things settled down a bit.   This is really grinding on me.

Snows Coming...

It's supposed to start snowing soon.  It might get barely above freezing today.  We could anything from 0 - 13".  Hard to tell with the weather around here.  It's good we don't have to go out any today & we handled tomorrow's errands yesterday.

Today is President Carter's funeral.  There will be no mail today.  Carter's fall from politics was my 1st real clue that people don't want you to be that honest with them.

The snow has begun.  Here's hoping it's light & ends sooner than later.   Winter sucks.

Take care, stay safe.

UUGGHH!!! WTF Day...

Yesterday started off well, it was even bright out.  We had a lot planned for us.  There were bills to be paid locally & via mail.  It was a big shopping day.  There was a trip to the bank.  A stop buy the mail place & getting lunch.  Meds had to ordered.  All of this should've been handled by 12:30 - 1:00.  That didn't happen.  We still had to eat lunch & wait for a plumber to show by 3:00.

When I called around 9:30 to check on my meds, the pharmacy had some disturbing news.  They wouldn't be able to fill the order for my HIV meds.  There was too big a discrepancy between the cost of the med & what my insurance was paying out.  This just started, probably with new year.  There are a lot pharmacies around here, but most have the same provider.  That left Walmart.  I called & the long, ordeal of waiting for an answer began.  I didn't know until nearly noon if this would be a fix.

Walmart did fill it & had it on hand.   I'm not sure what I would've had to do if they couldn't have.  I'd been playing phone tag with my specialist in Tulsa.  My regular pharmacy may eventually be able to get this fixed for me, but until then I'm at Walmart for my Dovato.  This isn't what I wanted, but it will work.

The bank, bills & mail got handled.  Shopping was done & meds picked up.  The plumber did show & fix the issue.  Everything got sorted, but the stress of it wrecked the day & wiped me out.  I'm still a bit frazzled.    Albeit, we finished everything on our list, it wasn't a good day.  There was way too much crap.

Today needs to be a major nothing day before we head into this upcoming cold front BS.  It's supposed to last about a week.  I hate cold, dark, Winter.

Take care.

Just A Thursday...

It's the final push of September.  The garbage men were early & loud this morning.  The loud part of it may be because I didn't have any fans running.  But that early is ridiculous with these temps.

The things I ordered finally came in.  Some stuff for the cat should be here today or tomorrow.  It'd be nice if more things would stay in stock in my area.

It's a week for the kitten's meds.  He seems to be doing better.  He's eating & drinking.

Yesterday was a week for Little Spot Kitten to be gone.  That was the kindest thing that could be done for him.  It was still hard to do.  I called the vet this morning & he didn't have any communicable issues, like rabies.  That's great, I didn't want to deal with that.

That's all for this morning.  Take care.

Another Holiday....

Not much will happen for us on this holiday.  When I was little, Memorial Day was decoration day.  Then they decided that it was only for vets.  Now you have to check with your local cemetery about hows, whens & whys of their decoration day.

I don't put out decorations, so this won't affect me.   What will matter, is this will mess with banks & mail.  I don't need the bank today, but who knows what might be in the mail.  I dislike Monday holidays.  They cause more issues than if they were on Friday.

That's all for now.  Take care.

Hello November...

Hello November.  It'd be really nice if things went smoothly.  October was all set to be an easy month, but apparently it just wasn't feeling it.  Difficult, trying, bad months are no longer in vogue, actually there quite passé.   Let's try to keep up.

On to other matters.  My lab results for my thyroid came back & I'm to stay on the same regimen.  Today is trash day.  We'll check mail & maybe grab something to eat.  The 1st of the month stuff will start later in the week.

That's all for now.  At least it's supposed to warm up a little.  This cold BS can leave for parts unknown.  Take care.

More Really...

Yesterday morning didn't start off that great for me.  There was a power blip & I had to reset everything in my room.  I thought if that's all for today, I can handle this.  It wasn't.

We went shopping & then decided to run over to Fort Smith for some things we can't get here most of the tie.  The trip, itself, at times can be questionable.   Other than the store not having an item in  stock, the trip went well.

We get back just about 2 & run by the mail to send off a letter that needed to get out ASAP.   There was some stuff for my roomie.  She got a notice she needed to refile something.  The problem was the letter was either sent later than stated or got lost in the mail.   The deadline for this refile was the day before she got it.  We ran by the local office & got a little info there.   What could be handled online was, but she still called them just in case.  Her initial wait time was over 149 minutes, not 1 hour & 49 minutes, but 2 hours and 29 minutes.

She was on the phone for over 2.5 hours.  Luckily she could plug the phone in to charge & have it on speaker.   After finally getting to a representative, she was told, that the matter had already been resolved & she didn't need to do anything further.  To sum this up;  a hellishly late notice, a scare jolt, irritation, 2+ hours lost... all for, "Oh yeah, that's already been handled automatically... you're fine... we don't need anything from you at this time."   No we're sorry for any of it.

At least it's handled, we think.  But still, on top of everything else in our life, that happened.  Did they not send out the letter when they said did or did the  mail lose it for that long?   We did not need that.

Off Schedule...

Due to holiday mail & my telemedicine appointment, this week will go a little different.   We couldn't handle things on Monday & I'll be busy tomorrow, so today's the day.  There's not much to do, it's just not happening when it normally would.  I hate Monday holidays that screw with the mail.

Take care.

Bill Time...

The 1st of the month stuff starts today.  We'll handle what bills we can & this finish them later in the week.  Things will be a little off with a midweek mail holiday for the 4th.  Other than that, it should be a normal start of the month.

Take care.

Still More...

Whatever reserves I have for getting through Winter's BS have been mostly depleted.  I wonder if some animals hibernate just to avoid the season's drear.  According to meteorologist, Spring begins at March,.  The Spring Equinox isn't until the March 20.  I like the weather people's day more, but I bet the other date is more accurate.  By then, the warmer weather should be more stable & the time change would've happened.  Maybe then, I won't be so drained by SAD issues.  That's a month.  It doesn't sound long, but when you're dealing with SAD, it can feel like forever.

It's shopping day.  We can't deal with mail since it's yet another mail holiday with President's Day.  There isn't much going on other than that.  I'm trying to confirm my appointment next week.  So far, I'm getting no reply.

Take care.

Mid Feb...

The month is nearly halfway over & it's sunny for the moment.  It's supposed to warmer today, yay!  It'll get cold again, but for today it's brighter & warmer.   This was my mother's birthday & when I was younger, the calendar's marked it as Lincoln's birthday.   Washington & him used to get their own days, now they have to share on President's day.  That'll happen next week & screw up the mail.

Tomorrow will be an anniversary as well.  I might not remember in the morning, so I'll mention it now.  On February 13, 2019 I was admitted to the hospital for a stroke.  2019 was not a good year for me.  Later that year, I was admitted again for either a weird pneumonia or an early case of COVID.   I'm still not sure on that matter.  As painful as it was, I'm thinking COVID.

We're 2+ months into meteorological Winter & 1.5 months into seasonal Winter.   Either way, I just want it gone.  It's too cold & staying too dark for me.

That's it for now, take care.

Mail Ugh...

The mail issue is getting annoying.  Mail will not run on Monday the 16th, because of MLK Day.  I'm not annoyed at a single holiday  However in 21 days, 3 weeks, there will have been 3 mail days missed.  3 times the banks were closed.  3 times for bills & other matters to be delayed.  This is a bit much in 3 weeks;  Christmas Observed 12/26/22, New Year's Observed 01/01/23 & the MLK Day 1/16/23.  Stop screwing with the mail.  I seriously dislike this observed thing.  If it has to happen, make it the Friday, not the Monday.  Mondays are always rougher mail days.

OK, rant's over.  Happy Jason Voorhees' Day.

So Very Not Good...

It's very dark this morning & I'm not doing well.  I woke more nerved out than I have been in a while.  Everything keeps making demands, breaking, needing & I just can't.  There's been so much going on & so little getting resolved.  I really hate waking up.  It means there's probably something waiting for me.  It's almost always dark.  There are car troubles, furniture issues, phones, health, mailboxes & the list goes on.  I used to think I could handle a couple of them at a time.  Now I'm not so sure, especially when they all happen at once.  Does anything good ever come from waking up?  I'm tired, broken & it seems some of my pieces are missing.

More Yuck...

Not in the best of moods this morning.  We mostly had our stuff together for the moment.  It was at least a sunny day.  Then something else stressful had to land in our laps.  It was just out of nowhere & so damn arbitrary.   It was handled badly by the initiators.  We think we have a plan, but it still sucked.

So much for ending November in relative peace.  2022 has sucked.  I'm tired of everything taking potshots this year.

Mini-rants over, take care.

Little Late...

I'm doing this a little late this morning.  I'm handling a lost bill issue.  I've done the final steps I can.  Now, all I can do is wait.  This means using the US mail as little as possible for important matters.  That's 2 items lost in about 2 years.  I did my part, the postal service did not.  Time to move on.

Needed...

I read fairly often stating this or that is needed for the  fight against HIV due to Race/Culture/Gender issues.  I somewhat call BS on most of that.  They often refer to things as telemedicine, at-home testing & mail order meds.

They say these help people in racial & gender minorities or those living in restrictive cultures.   That may be so.  But it isn't because a person is not White that these things a beneficial.  These are socio-cultural matters.  What's happening here is that telemedicine & processes that can be handled remotely feel safer & more accessible.

This isn't so much a matter of type as it is of shame, poverty & lack of access.  These other methods work better because they can often circumvent those things.  Stigma/shame are things that aren't going  away, if telemedicine can help, that's great.   However, there is still an access problem for a lot of people in remote areas.

A person's health is a private matter.  If there is a way to better maintain anonymity than by all means use it.  If there are more secure means of accessing doctors, healthcare & meds, then they should be promoted.  Health professionals aren't going to change cultures.  But they can do end-runs around them & maybe bypass some of these issues.  HIV has never been just a medical issue.

Glitchy...

There's a fair amount of frustration for me at the moment.  Things need to get handled at some  point that are probably going to be more of an issue than they should be.  The weather isn't being my friend.  It's cold out, but at least the sun's shining.   It looks like another up-down cycle for temps is coming next week.  That'll be just awesome for us, sarcasm intended.

Adding to this, the mail is screwing with my bills.  I'm going to have to find another way to handle them.  I hate it when things make me alter my methods, just because they decide to be faulty.   I rarely go back to what I was doing before.  This has happened a lot this last year or so.  I had to change where I got insurance & where I by my cat meds.

That's all for now.  Take care.

Irritation...

I made it 5 days into the new year before getting seriously irritated with something.  That might be a record.   While trying to get out the door to go shopping, my phone dinged for a voice mail.

My craptastic pharmacy had struck again.   The order I placed on the 2nd, that should've been mailed today was going to be delayed because of some issue they had with refills.  Both my meds showed that I had refills remaining, but they said those were no longer valid for some reason.  They couldn't tell me this when I ordered.  No, then I could've handled this is a reasonable manner.

I spent half and hour at my doctor's office trying to talk to someone about this.  I finally did, but I have no idea how long this is going to take.   Once I'm certain of what meds I'm going to be on, I'm talking to a local pharmacy & see what they can do.  If possible CVS pharmacy go seriously F' itself.  I hate that pharmacy.

Add to that, our water bill had been late.  It showed up today, half eaten in a envelope provided by the post office.  I also hate our post office, it sucks.

I'm just so happy.
