Still Adjusting...

The problem with this time of year is the wide swing of things.  The light levels are getting better, but dark storms are common.  It's warming & there are 80s in the forecast for highs.  Then again, the same forecasts calls for a couple of overnights just around freezing.  So, it's weird light, high pollen, storms & a 50+ temperature range.

Those aren't easy things to adjust to.  I probably won't until things settle down some.  For now, I'm achy, tired & my morning blood pressure has been too low.  Transitions have never been my forte.  I'll get there, but for now, this sort of sucks.

That's it for now, take care.

A New Start...

Come Monday, my roomie will start a new "project" for herself.  It's a health matter, so I won't go into too much detail about it.  But, it will be a big deal for her & change a lot in her everyday life.  The process won't last forever, but will take some adjustments.  While it may not seem like it in the beginning, this could improve her well being.  The problem with health issues is that it's always a process.  We're rarely told that bit.  It's going to be a busy start of the week.

That's all for now, take care.

Adjustments...

We're watching the forecasts.  There are possibilities for unpleasant weather this weekend.  We may have to adjust some of our plans for it.  I'm hoping most of it avoids us.  It'd be nice not to see wintry mix or near 0 temps.  We don't need or want that.  Pass it on to Arkansas, Kansas or further northeast.  Those people seem to like this stuff.

That's all for now, take care.

Ready...

Everything has been gathered for the holiday meal.  I'll take things down to thaw soon & then the prep will be easy enough.  We don't do a lot any more & some of it's already happened.  My roomie likes the green bean casserole, but it's a bit much for us with everything else.  So we make it earlier in the month.  The dish is still had without overwhelming us.  Since it's just us, there's been a lot adjusting the holidays to suit us.  If we miss something, we can have it at another time.

That's it for me this morning.  Take care & I hope the holiday brings some joy to you.

Science & New Info...

I think most people would rather be led by religion or rhetoric than science.  Both the previous things are somewhat cultish & what they state is fairly set in stone.  Science at its core should always be evolving with exposure to new information & current events.  Religion is a dead thing, a fossil made of old ideas .  Science is dynamic.  It's adapting, adjusting & refining as it encounters new or further phenomenon.

Do  you want a rigid life where the rules are engraved in granite, then religion's for you.  If you want to move forward, however frustrating or frightening that may be, look to science.  There's the old line, "To boldly go..."   Star Trek had ideology & science, not religion.  Where the federation got into trouble was when it relied to heavily on it's own rhetoric instead of adapting to the situation.

You have a choice, move forward or stick your head in the sand.  There will always be new information, findings, discoveries, formulas, etc...  For better or worse, even after decades, new finding still emerge about HIV meds.

But with that new info, they can adjust.  That's the way of science.  It won't bring the comfort of absolute certainty.  But it can give the assurance, it's probably the best currently available & it'll keep looking into the matter.  Science isn't a short race with a finish line.  It's a long haul, marathon with goals along the way.  Passing mile markers doesn't end the endeavor.

Still Not Used To It...

Not much in the way of anything this morning.  This week hasn't been easy on me.  I'm still trying to adjust to the light change.  I hate the early dark.  I also had to move my thyroid med by an hour.  That med  always messes with me if I'm late taking it.  My stomach/digestion always takes ahit when I'm not prompt with the thyroid med.  I'll be adjusted soon, for the med, no the dark.  I most likely won't adjust  for the dark.

That's all for now, take care.

A Little Better...

I still woke up later than I'd liked after the time change.  But a week ago, I'd been up a little early.  The time change isn't easy on a person.  At least I got more sleep last night.  I have to get there in increments.

It's another grey morning, but not as dark as yesterday.  We got over an inch of rain.  That leaves us still under the monthly average, the ground needed it.  Just wish it would rain without all the storm drama & foreboding darkness.

That's about it for now.  The adjustments continue.  Take care.

No Easy Adjustments...

There won't be any easy adjusting to the time change this year.  Besides the overcast mornings, the trees have decided to include everyone in their seasonal orgy.  The tree pollen levels have gone to 11.  Actually over that by a bit.  That's as nearly as high as pollen.com rates levels.   I did not consent to be part of frenzied tree copulating.

That's all for now, take care.

Adjusting Poorly...

I'm adjusting rather poorly to the time change.  It  might've gone better if the weather hadn't decided to do this pissy, grey skies thing it's been doing since Sunday.   While I really appreciate the light later in the afternoon, I hate trying to wake on these overcast  mornings.  The light that does come on mornings like this is that weird orangish, cloud strained color.  It's hard on the eyes.  I'll adjust eventually, just not this morning.

Take care.

Adjusting...

The warmer weather is here.  I'm mostly through dewinterizing.   I'm adjusting to the season.  I'm still getting used to it, especially when I sleep.   I definitely sleep differently from season to season.   Everything from covers on the bed, fans, to amount of sprawl.   I'll get there, just not quite yet.

At least I woke to sunshine.

Still Adjusting...

Seems like everything is still adjusting to a lot.  The weather is still trying to get used to the idea of Spring, so it's chilly out.   We're still adjusting to the political fall-out of the election, people are all over the place on this 1.  Adjustments take time.

I'm still not fully adjusted to the return of this Daylight Saving Time B.S.  It takes a while to adapt to that lost hour & the changes in light.  It'll happen, probably not soon though.

We're still adjusting to not having Rhiannon in the house.  After 17 years, her absence is felt.  I still look for her & sometimes think about needing to check on her.   We will get used to it & I sort of hate that.  I hate that we adjust to things leaving our lives like we do.  I know it's what we have to do to move on, but still it sucks.

Oh well, still a lot of adjusting to do.

More Thyroid News...

The lab results are back & my thyroid levels are still off.   My new prescription will edge up a little more.  For the remainder of what I have, I'll be pill splitting & taking 1 1/2 a day.  Fortunately, I won't have to do do that long.   In another 8 or so weeks I'll get stuck for my levels again.  I hate being a pin cushion.   But, it's what I have to do.  Still sucks.

Adjustments...

The cooler weather have allowed us to live with just open windows & fans.  I prefer this, it's easier on my breathing.   The cats are sleeping better, so am I.

Not the case for my roomie.   Resting is being a bit of challenge for her post surgery.  There are a lot of issues a person faces post-op.  Some of them messy, some painful, but all of them seem to be tiring.

We have to make adjustments in our lives as we age.  We expect that.  But the rearranging & reprioritizing you have to make with a chronic illness or a surgery might take you by surprise.  Even if people have tried to make you aware of somethings, until you actually go through them, you have no idea how difficult things can be.   Try having a hot flash or serious night sweats.   They don't sound debilitating, but they can be.

For now & in the foreseeable future, our lives will be fill these readjustments, these fine tunings.  That's just life.   Sometimes, there's just no avoiding them.
