Stupid Early Again...

 

This is a short, complaint post about being up much earlier than I wanted.  Why?  Because we have to take that stupid car to another mechanic shop & hope they can figure what's wrong with it.  

I hate all of this.  It's bad enough Fall's here & daylight is lasting less than 12 hours.  But to make it worse, everything keeps breaking & demanding attention.  I hate mornings, Fall & this car is working it's way up that list.

Beyond Ignorant...

 

This UK article  shows that a lot of people are far past ignorant.  Some have embraced a stupidly dangerous level of stupidity.  The UK has seen over a 36% surge in HIV cases.   UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) & Newfoundland Diagnostics ran a poll & found some disturbing things among the men's answers.

• 73% have never tested for HIV
• 37% were having regular unprotected sex
• 34% believing they are unlikely to contract HIV 
• 25% claimed they couldn't contract HIV.
• 20% could not be bothered to test for HIV
• 15% had never had access to a HIV test 

These were some of the findings from their survey of over 2,500 men.  They found among heterosexual  men, few had adequate access to PrEP, education, awareness or any other resources concerning HIV.

Newfoundland Diagnostics is pushing for testing to become more common & at home testing to be readily available.  The firm believes due to the US's freeze on aid there could be a global rise in HIV & in turn could impact the levels in the UK.

Crap Morning...

 

This is a crappy morning for several reasons.  1st off, it's morning & we are always contrary to each other.  My roomie is ill & I'm still not feeling well.  I was supposed to have a medical appointment right now, but it got rescheduled last minute.  It's now at a less convenient time next week.  If I'd known sooner, I could've schedule the repairman to fix the roof issue earlier.   But that would've been considerate.

Finally, we have proof that Democrats can't pick an electable candidate.  People choose that orange bastard over her.  He can do a lot of damage in 4 years.  I hate a lot of people right now.  But the Democrats have their own culpability here.  For too long they've lived in a world of ought-to-be's & wouldn't-that-be-nice's.  They've kept their heads in this pretty, rose colored version of should-be, instead of what actually was.  I don't think people voted for that bastard as much as they voted against her.

Maybe we'll get through this.

Still Trying...

 

I'm still here & it feels like everything is trying it's best to push me over the edge.   A ton of little things, the weather, people's conditions, things needing handled, impending  storms that threaten our services, etc...  All of it eats at my resources.  What little I have.  Those people who say they enjoy getting older, must be leading very different lives than me.  My life was never easy, but every year, hell month, seems a lot harder.  It takes more to do less in almost every regard, from I can personally do to the cost of things.  Getting older was such a stupid idea.

Probably Not...

 

It's been decades since the 1st case of HIV/AIDS.  So, when's there going to be an end to this, a cure, a vaccine?   IMO, most likely that day will never come. 

There are too many malignant people out there that don't believe in handling HIV because it isn't about them.  Or they like having something they can ridicule or shame people about.  They will never deal with HIV until they test +.

There's too much profit in HIV.  Drug companies make billions off the meds.   They'd lose that if there was ever a cure.  Another form of profit is social.  The kind conservatives like.  The people who think that any one who contracts the virus was a bad person who deserved it.  Unless of course it was them or someone in their circle.  Then it was an attack by some abomination. 

Between horrible people, greedy corps & conservatives the possibility of a cure is fairly low.  That doesn't even take into account those who are + & won't/can't take care themselves.   I think HIV is just here.  If it is cured, it'll probably be after I'm gone.

Stupidity & Recoup Take 2...

 

I'm not going to cite this, it's everywhere online.  The topic of vampire facials is back.  To start with, what a stupid concept.  People are trusting beauty "professionals" with who knows how little actual training or licensing to perform risky treatments on them.  This facial involves your face, micro needles & human blood.  Even if this didn't sound sketchy, why would you let anyone near you with needles & blood from some unknown source.  If it isn't a recognized medical office, how are they getting that blood?  Was it tested?  Now people who had no other known risks for the virus are turning up HIV+.  The concept was desperate, risky & stupid.

Hopefully Optimum can keep it's crap together & we can go about our lives.  I need a bit more recovery time to back to normal.  The weather's crap, my stress has been high & we've been busy.  Screw Optimum for sucking & adding more stress to my life.

Still Messing...

 

There isn't much in the articles this morning other than republicans screwing with funds.  They're having a tantrum over anything they don't want, including funding previously established HIV programs mostly started by republicans.  Even Trump pushed his on special way of ending of HIV.  Now these politicians are threatening these efforts to get what they want.  Conservatives are nothing more than stupid, violent brats.  

I guess we'll see how this plays out.  Too bad they can't all just die of being conservative.

1st Week Of October...

The 1st week of the month has passed.  It was 7 days of utterly stupid, preventable, unexpected, unnecessary, upsetting bullshit.  All of the BS was nauseatingly stressful.   Every last bit of the anxiety was avoidable.  None of it was our doing.   

That's the problem when people tell something wasn't personal.  It doesn't matter.   If it happened to you & you had to deal with it, does the aim matter?   Maybe it might later or for some reason.  But in the now, the crap is happening to you.  

None of the debacle that happened during the last bit was aimed at us.  Yet it hit us & stressed our lives.   We weren't thought about.  We weren't collateral damage.  We were caught in other people's actions.  There was no thought given to us at all.  It wasn't personal.  But it did personally affect us & we'll be  dealing with the effects afterwards.

This left us were sick & exhausted yesterday.  Hoping it's over for the moment.   Unclenching abit, so some of the anxiety could escape.  Don't tell me it wasn't personal, because I don't care.  I take anything that negatively affects my life & well being fairly personally.  Whoever is responsible should have the same & worse dumped on them.

We're trying to recover.  Take care.

More Really...

Yesterday morning didn't start off that great for me.  There was a power blip & I had to reset everything in my room.  I thought if that's all for today, I can handle this.  It wasn't.  

We went shopping & then decided to run over to Fort Smith for some things we can't get here most of the tie.  The trip, itself, at times can be questionable.   Other than the store not having an item in  stock, the trip went well.

We get back just about 2 & run by the mail to send off a letter that needed to get out ASAP.   There was some stuff for my roomie.  She got a notice she needed to refile something.  The problem was the letter was either sent later than stated or got lost in the mail.   The deadline for this refile was the day before she got it.  We ran by the local office & got a little info there.   What could be handled online was, but she still called them just in case.  Her initial wait time was over 149 minutes, not 1 hour & 49 minutes, but 2 hours and 29 minutes.   

She was on the phone for over 2.5 hours.  Luckily she could plug the phone in to charge & have it on speaker.   After finally getting to a representative, she was told, that the matter had already been resolved & she didn't need to do anything further.  To sum this up;  a hellishly late notice, a scare jolt, irritation, 2+ hours lost... all for, "Oh yeah, that's already been handled automatically... you're fine... we don't need anything from you at this time."   No we're sorry for any of it.  

At least it's handled, we think.  But still, on top of everything else in our life, that happened.  Did they not send out the letter when they said did or did the  mail lose it for that long?   We did not need that.

Just More Stupid...

 

Since the mid 2010's, there's been news & I've blogged about how economic upheaval, homelessness & IV drug use has caused upticks & outbreaks of HIV in states like Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky & West Virginia.  The biggest problem here is that these states are mostly very conservative. 

They have fought nearly every program to aid with the baseline issues leading to these matters.  But any attempts to assist in jobs, medicaid, housing & especially drug matters have hit brick walls.  This article talks about West Virginia's latest decision to block a clean needle program, even though it was suggested by the CDC.

This is just another example of the stupidity conservatives employ when dealing with people. Somewhere between ⅔ - ¾ of new HIV transmissions in the area for the last few years has been through IV drug usage.  Meaning these transmissions were due to dirty/used needles.  Even with the most basic logic, the people of West Virginia can't get behind a needle programs.  

Just more stupid.

Not Surprised....

 

Irritated, but not surprised.  Yesterday, a majority of the people showed how disgustingly predictable they were.   Americans & Oklahomans, both choose to dig deeper into the mire instead of looking for a way out.  A lot of voters were party zealots.  Probably more,  were just impatient brats that didn't get what they wanted out of the Biden administration on Day 1.  I'd love to blame it on voting being a scam.  But, I think it's just the sheer hateful, indulgent stupidity of voters.  This is why I can't stand most people.

Tomorrow is the midterm election.  How will this go?  Who knows?  I've done what I can.  Now, it's up to  Oklahomans & Americans to remind us how awful they can be.  Midterms are always stupid pendulum swings by impatient, impractical people who didn't get their way day 1.  Elections always show us how willing people are to vote against their own best interest, just so they can scream at someone else.  The American political system only serves to show the indulgence, ignorance, hate & greed of the people living here.

I don't have high hopes.  I never do when people are involved.  I'd love it if they surprised  me, but let's be realistic.

I knew yesterday was going to be a little busy.  We had the 1st of the month bill stuff starting & shopping.  We got started a little bit.  That was a the only thing we were responsible for the rest of the day.  The day turned out to be a series of stupid, unnecessary, avoidable annoyances & inconveniences.   

As I said the late start was the only thing on us.  Maybe the thought that things would just go as they should have, as they usually do, was just too arrogant of us.  

We thought once we were home, we'd be done with the mess.  Not at all.  Because of the flighty, indulgent nature of another person, a plan for later in the week got screwed.  Nothing we had going was big, difficult or demanding.  Still these things got bombed.  The day was stressed & filled with efforts to correct other people's fuckery.  I hate having to fix other people's stupid problems.

Oh well, it's a new day.  So far, so good.  Don't screw up Tuesday.  Take  care.

Not Great Start...

 

May didn't get off to a good start.  What wasn't  somewhat dreary was in utter downpour.  In 6 days,  we got as many inches of rain.  We passed our monthly rain average of 5".  Our lawn guy snuck in a mowing between bouts.   The yard needed it.  I haven't been able to do any edging.  It's still too wet.  The grass is sparkling.   Maybe later.

After a long, dark Winter & early Spring, this has been hard on me.  I've woke up more anxious than I have in a long time.  This crap weather needs to lighten up.   It's May, but it's dark, wet & chilly.   The forecast says that's about to change.

It's shiny now, but everyone decided to mow on this wet morning.  That's annoying & stupid.  That grass is drenched & there are standing puddles.  I know mowing is necessary.  But stupid people doing it at awful times isn't.

Blocked, Stupid & Gone...

 

I have a few gripes.  I found a few promising articles  this morning.  When I tried to look further, I got  blocked.  I didn't even see enough to tell if the article was worth trying to find elsewhere.  I understand people need to be paid for their work.  However, if most sites with HIV info have paywalls, who are they really reaching?  Probably not the people who could benefit from the info.

Oklahomans are  stupid & many deserve to die from COVID.   During the 1st week of January we have about 24K active cases.  Less than a month later  due to stupidity & Omicron we have over 129K.  That's  more than a 100,000 case increase.  There is no  excuse.  Our hospitals are glutted & there's no room for people who have actual emergencies; heart attacks,  broken bones, strokes, etc...  These people aren't just stupid, they're selfish asshats willing to endanger everyone.  DIE SOON IDIOTS.

Finally, because of striking workers & supply chain issues, the stores are more bare now than ever.  Basic things like regular crackers & cereals are gone.  I support workers.  But to strike during times like this isn't hurting the company.  It only hurts the people who depend on those products.  It also makes some of them anti-worker.

Fix your paywalls,  get vaccinated & stock the shelves. That's all I'm asking.  Doubt I'll see any of it happen.   OK, gripes are over.    Take care.

The last couple of weeks have left me exhausted & exasperated.  So much for a good October.  A lot of things have decided to collide & make my life more challenging.

The weather has been so weird the yard work is still ongoing.  We've been overly grey with little rain.   It's been just enough to hamper getting anything done.   The van needed tires & the car had to get tags replaced.  The tags should've been a non-issue, but every unmasked idiot was there. We've had strange issues with the power flickering.

Then to add to it all, we try to watch TV last night & the channels were blank.  Suddenlink forget to send us a memo that we'd need a cable box for our basic cable now.  I was on the phone with them for almost 3 hours.  Just for them to tell me that & set an appointment for it in 2 weeks.  So for now, no cable. 

This has all been fixable & manageable.  I'm just sick of fixing & managing every damn thing.  Then of course, this morning Windows had to do an update.   That slowed me down a lot more than the cat puking by my door.  

Sorry for the rant.   I'm just tired & frustrated.  I'm in a fairly hateful mood at the moment.  Take care.

Busy & Annoyed....

 

1st, I'm in a bit of a rush to go handle beginning of the  month stuff.   Then there'll be shopping.   I'm just now getting around.

I'm annoyed I actually saw an article over how condoms help prevent HIV.  It wasn't a piece over statistics.  It was telling how condoms work.  Apparently people no longer get how a condom works & why it can prevent diseases & pregnancy.  

I'm too rushed & annoyed to deal with this level of stupid.  Take care.

Rainy Day Maybe...

 

August weather is still weird.   Even the hot days we had were cloudy.  That just trapped the humidity.  It's been off & on rainy since Sunday.  It might or might  not today.  I guess we'll see.  Right now, it's a muggy gloomfest.  So much for Summer 2021.  

A notable chunk of my early 50's were spent in a dark, vexing, pandemic crapzone.  At least half of Oklahoma could fall over dead & I wouldn't care. After living through the AIDS scare & COVID, I know 1 thing.  It  could be raining molten acid & these idiots would stay outside screaming obscenities.  They'd blame various groups.  All the while, dying from something they could've avoided.  Most people are selfish, idiotic narcissist.  They'd rather die than admit they were wrong.

We're about halfway through August.   Most schools are back in session.  This is 2 crappy Summers in a  row.   I hate everyone who has helped this COVID crap continue because of them being stupid, raging asshats.  

My birthday is in 2 weeks.  What I'd like for a present is for those people to die & this to be over.  It's was 2019 since most of us could really relax.  This has been exhausting.  It's been taxing enough already, without all the violent idiocy.

I have no idea what I'll do for my birthday.  I'd love to go out.  But there's little to do & even less that's probably safe.  We still never got do anything for my roomie's birthday last year.

Goodbye June...

 

It's goodbye to June & I'm thankful for that.  June hasn't  been an awful month, but it hasn't been good  either.  It'd be nice if the last half of the year was better.  I have little nice to say, so Goodbye June, try harder next year.

I found another article over needle exchanges.  Even though they've been proven to help combat the spread of HIV & are supported by the CDC, many states are trying to end them.  Vicious conservatives are being idiots over health matters, no surprise there.
