The Worst Part...

The worst thing I do in a day is generally the worst part of my day & that's waking up.  It's such a massively stupid thing to do.  There's no good in it.  At least not for me.

I've been trying to do well, but I'm not succeeding.  It's another dismal day & it doesn't look like there will be much sunlight until it's blazing.  Yesterday was OK until a Windows update.  My PC was working OK until then & now the media streaming service keeps turning off.  I can fix it, but I'll have to do it every time until this corrects itself.  Maybe the next update will do it.

Sleep wasn't easy last night.  There was a lot of noise.  The air was thick & the forecast rain never came.  It was just muggy.  I woke weird this morning & I'm achy & groggy.

In all seriousness, screw mornings, waking & crappy overcast skies.   I could've just never woke up & never known any of this.  But I had to wake up.

Another Wet June Morning...

June has been a lackluster month again.  It could've easily passed April with the rain, storms & gloom.  I guess sunny Junes are a thing of the past.  I wonder how wedding traditionalists feel about that.  A July wedding it is then.

We've got shopping & that's about it today.  I'm glad.  It's hard to get motivated to do anything with this dreary weather.

That's all, take care.

Dreary, Wet & Muggy...

The area monthly rainfall averages were met & surpassed by the 1st week of June.  There's some local flooding, but I haven't seen any postings about anything serious.   That could change with more rain still in the forecast.

It's still dreary & muggy.  This isn't fun to wake up too.  It makes getting around hard.  This time of year, putting clothes on after a shower is a sticky process.

There were articles, mostly over things I've posted about a lot.  Some posts seemed too in the "proof-of-concept" phase to be worth it.  At least there was something.

I'm trying to do better this morning.  These skies aren't helping any.  It's nearly Summer Solstice & it's still this dark.  Summer used to be my reprieve, now there's nothing.

That's all for now, take care.

Another Grey Morning...

It's gloomy here again.  Often it's only getting bright a little before sundown.  A lot of good that does.   I hate these mornings.  I'm trying to get myself going & these clouds are making everything dreary.  They just linger making it muggy.

I'm through about half of the Winter wash.  I'll finish the rest of it this week.  Hopefully, it doesn't cool down again, but the rest of the month has storms in the forecast.

It was warm enough for me to use a fan for the 1st time overnight.   It was a little much & I'll have to watch when I use it as humid as it's been.  I don't need to catch a cold.  I mainly used it to move some stuffy air & buffer outside noise.

That's about it for now, take care.

More Zzz's

I have trouble waking this time of the year.  There's so little light in the morning, that I just don't wake up.  Then I've overslept & am left rushing around to get my morning handled.  It happened again this morning.

The weird net issues, seem to be handled.  I found a work around.  Shortly after, the issue resolved itself.  At least we have a way to handle things if it happens again.

That's about it this morning.  January weather is rushing back in & bringing more drear with it.   We need the rain, but not the gloom.

That's it for now, take care.

Oh Joy, Fall's Back...

Fall is here & I'm sure some people are happy about it.  I'm not among that kind.  I'm not a pumpkin spice slut, a fan of drear, darkness or the damp.  Autumn may be necessary, but it isn't pretty.  It's nothing but littering, shedding & rot.  It's the compost season of the year.  These are the months when everything scurries about trying to gather enough to survive the hell months of Winter.  The 'Ber & 'Ary months aren't my friends.

I did find a few articles, but for some reason the host pages were having issues.  Maybe I'll find them later.   It's hard enough finding pieces without sites crapping out.

So, hello Autumn, do try not to suck.

June Has Brought...

The month of June has brought with it the dreary ending of a dismal Spring.  It's dark again this morning & it rained nearly an inch since last night.  It's supposed to rain all day & into the night.  I hope it's over by then & doesn't cause a lot of flooding.  My roomie has an appointment tomorrow.

The tiger lillies & crepe myrtle began to bloom this week.  The rose of sharon's started the beginning of the month.   I'm half surprised all this rain didn't drown everything.

The lawn guy came yesterday.  He probably should've been here last week, but it was raining.  The lawn was so high, it took him longer to cut the grass.

I keep meaning to write about something but it irritated me.  I had to respond to Social Security about my disability for review last August.  I remember I mailed it back on Monday the 19th.  Normally it takes a bit for them to respond & sometimes they don't at all.  I got notification that there was no need for a review at this time last week.  That was nearly 10 months later.  With the orange stain office this will only get worse.

That's all for now.  Take care.

Low Key...

High levels of anxiety are overwhelming & immediately exhausting.  People can understand that.  But when you're dealing with chronic illness, SAD or other life affecting matters that seemingly won't end, they can be just as problematic.

I've been trying to get passed the proverbial Winter blues for some time, but they're still here.  March & April were both fairly rough months.   May hasn't been as rough, but the darkness has lingered.  Storms & clouds are in the forecast until the start of June.

A solid week of light would do wonders for me.  Instead it's mostly just haze, drear & darkness.  That is when it's not storming.  At some point with SAD & the anxiousness that comes with it, you feel like you're sort of buzzing from stress of it.   The whole things is frustrating & exhausting.  If the damn clouds would just roll out.

At least it's keeping the temps down.  But these conditions are also adding to the pollen, bugs, drear & need for mowing.  A muggy 86° is far worse than a dry 92°.

That's it for now.  We have to go shopping for the weekend.  Take care.

Off Sleep...

Sleep & waking issues have been back with me for a bit.  The drear is making my SAD linger & waking difficult.  The weather has been screwing with my sleep; temps swings, muggy, storms, winds, etc...    Last night, the cat that hasn't been sleeping with me, did.  Well she didn't exactly sleep & neither did I.  For such a little cat, she can be damned loud; demanding pets, jumping about, slurpy cleaning, etc...

I'm here, but not very awake, definitely not willing. It's another grey morning & could storm more.  That's my day.

Take care.

Bad Saturday...

It started Tuesday, the winds were rough & drove in the dark, stormy weather.  It's been cooler, dark, storming & windy since.  I didn't do well Thursday, yesterday was rough, this morning I feel like crap.  The problem is the storms, rain & dark are supposed to be here until tomorrow morning.  That will be another bad morning.  Then it's supposed to cool down a lot overnight.  This weather is being very hard on me.

Of course, everything else is still happening;  errands, house stuff, cats, etc...   I felt OK for a couple of hours last night & then it was time to go to bed.  Now, I'm back here again, not waking, achy & spent.  Real dark, like night time, I can handle.  It's this daytime drear that kills me.  It's the damn greyness of it all. I couldn't handle being in the far North places that have the weird light levels for months.  That might very well kill me.

That's it for now, take care.

Cloudy Outing...

The holiday week is here.  We've got some shopping & then we'll run over to Fort Smith.  It's been hard ever since COVID for us to keep our holiday outing schedule.  Between COVID & the movie strikes, there hasn't been a lot we've been interested in seeing.

It looks like the holiday week is going to dreary & wet. Sunshine would've been nice, but that's not happening.  The dark of the year is crap.

That's all for now, I have to get around.  Take care.

Drear & Haze...

It got dark early yesterday & finally stormed last night.  It's not only dreary this morning, it's hazy as well.  Haze is hard on the eyes.  It doesn't let much light though, but what it does is rough.  It's warm today, but supposed to cool back down midweek.

This is the halfway point of December.   5 Days are left until Yule season starts with the solstice.  There's just a little past that before Christmas & New Years.

That's about it this morning.  Take care.

Dismal December...

December's being December, a suckfest of cold, drear & ick.  I woke to thick cloud cover.  It looks to be mostly cloudy throughout the month.  There goes any chance of me feeling decent.  It'd be easier if the days were clear even if they weren't bright.

It's not being a good holiday season.  So many people who normally are holiday happy have checked out this year.  Maybe they're just too burned out to handle holiday things.  I miss the lights.  The lights are about the only things I really like about the holiday.

It'd be nice to have something positive to say or a solution to offer.  But, I don't have either of those.  Maybe someone else will, but not me.  I'm staying far too in the moment for my own sake.  Not sure what I can do about that.

That's all for now, take care.

Somber Sunday...

The grey has returned.  It's colder & wet.  It was hard waking up this morning.  I don't do mornings like this well.  Things will be like this until sometime tomorrow.  If there were holodecks, I doubt I'd ever come out.  I'd always be in setting that was bright, warm & cheery.  None of this dismal, wet drear.

That's about it for the 2nd Sunday of the month.  Take care.

More Dreary Wetness...

I'm not enjoying this weekend.  It's been a grey piss.  It was cooler, windy & wet yesterday.  Today looks to be the same.  All the piddling rain barely came to half an inch.  0.5" for a whole day of ick.   It could've done that in under an hour.

The rains are bringing the temps back down & the grey is reminding us it's still Winter.  Tomorrow looks to be brighter.  It's been good not to need the heaters for a bit.  It'd be nice not to need them much more for the season.

That's it for today, take care.

Shaky February Saturday...

We handled our Friday stuff well.  My meds went through alright.  That's very good for me.  We went over to Fort Smith & tried a Thai place we hadn't been to before.  It was pretty good.  We'll probably go there again.

A little past midnight, Oklahoma had a 5.1 earthquake.  It's been a bit since we got a notable shake here.  It felt & sounded like the cats had done their hard run across my room chasing each other.   The only problem was, they weren't in my room.  The quake came from the center of the state & was felt in Kansas & Arkansas.

Our weekend started with some shaking & looks to be dreary throughout.  We're having some wind & there could be some significant rain.  I guess we need the rain.  We don't need the wind or gloom.

That's it for now, take care.

No More Twinkling, Just Harshness...

All the holidays have passed & the yuck of Winter is setting in whether I like or not.  I don't.  Today's already grey, cold & blustering.  That seems to on order for the time being.  Next week is going to be very wintery.  The long weekend ahead could get stupidly cold for us.  After that, it's supposed to warm up to at least our seasonal norms.   No one needs all that frigid, dreary BS.  No one in this house wants any of it.  Send it North where people know how to handle it better.

Other than yuck weather, 2024 is doing alright.  I can't even get too upset about the cold, it's Winter.  I just don't have to like it.

That's about it for now.  Take care.

1st Eve...

It's Christmas Eve.  Here it's dreary & supposed to rain all day.  Sad night to be in a sleigh.  After tomorrow, we just have New Years Eve & 2023 will be topped off.

That's just 7 days before 2024.  It's under 2 weeks for the anniversary of this blog & my diagnosis.  May the rest of 2023 be kind to us all.

We have to head out in a bit.  Normally we'd shop tomorrow, but the stores will be closed.  So, today it is.  If avoidable, I don't go near a store the day after the holiday.

Happy Holidays.

December Drear...

I woke to dismal skies & the probability of rain.  I know we need the rain, but I don't need the drear.  These grey skies sap every bit of energy I can muster.  We need to go shopping in a bit.  We can probably get everything handled before the rain hits.  At least I hope we can.  After this the temps will lower again.  Oh well, it's December & nearly Solstice.  It may be expected & normal, but I don't have to like it.

That's it for now.  Take care.

Rain Day...

It's dreary & the forecast calls for a lot of rain today.  We could use the rain, but the dark is a bit much.  It looks like the unseasonal heat is over & we'll be back into more expected temps for November.

On a positive side, for the moment the entertainment industry strikes seem to be settled.  It could still be months before anything new is out.  At least it's a possibility now.

That's about it for today.  It's dark & rainy.  The SAG strike is over.  There weren't any relevant articles.  We have no plans.  Take care.
