What Articles...

Finding pieces to post about can be an issue.  For some time, there haven't been many coming out.  1st, it seemed due to normal process, then tRump's budget issues, then everything else under the sun.  Now, finding a relevant piece isn't likely on a regular basis.  Then there are the bad pieces, the paywalls & the abstracts.

I think it's kind to call some of those abstracts.  A piece like that is supposed to be a concise, yet thorough, summation of the article & it's information.  Many abstracts now are article bio, blips of info about the piece & then a few sentences of summation often ending in ellipses.   Those aren't abstracts, they're not even a blurb.  They are so brief they're functionally useless.

Oh well, there's my articles rant.  It's hot, getting hotter.  Will be so for the duration & BTW ragweed is back, joy.  Take care.

Well Sorta...

I thought I'd found an article.  It was comparing the efficacy of 2-drug vs 3-drug medications.  I was formally on a 3, Triumeq & now I'm on a 2, Dovato.

The piece seemed like a decent post subject.  Too bad, it was only an abstract, less than half a page.  The very brief point seemed to be that it found no difference in the performance of either regimen.  If so, I'll opt for the fewest drugs in the pill.  That would seem to mean less chance for complications.

Abstracts are better than paywalls, but just barely.  That's it for this morning, take care.

Almost, But Not....

I thought I might have found some interesting articles this morning.  I did not.  I found links to research abstracts.  Abstracts can be great if you're doing serious research & want to see if the piece is right for you.  But for my blog, they're generally useless.  Abstracts are very brief usually no more 3 paragraphs, often less.  They're the thesis of a work that is generally in a journal that's either not on the web or behind a paywall.  Either way, not helpful for the average user.  I don't mind abstracts in search results, I mind them not being labelled.

The weather shifted again.  The next few days will be warmer.  This morning is very humid.  Maybe that'll burn off as the day warms up.

That's it for now, take care.
