Annoyed...

We we're having a productive time yesterday.  It was going well & it seemed  OK.  Then, there was a knock at the door. We got some news, that's putting some plans in jeopardy.  It's been a crap Spring, we've had mostly challenging times & lots of issues.   Yesterday started off bright, non-eventful & productive,  Then life said, "Oh no, we  can't have that,  here's  some  bad news, grey skies & anxiety."

Sometimes,  I just  can't.

Op or News...

Articles are moving becoming scarce again.  Rehash & opinion remains abundant.    I wish people would learn the difference between actual news & just opinion/editorial.  I'm interested in real, factual incidents/actions, not someone's reaction to events or opinion about how things are or should be.

I'm sure your opinion is great & all, but I could mostly care less.  I'm here for the news, not the YOU show.  It'd be nice if those running news shows or putting articles in feeds would learn the difference.

Enough of that.  It looks to be another nice day here.  YAY!  That's about all for now. Take care.

Rain ...

Woke up to rain.  By the time I was around, we'd already had almost .5".  It's supposed to rain all day.  We could see up to an inch.   We need it.  I'm amazed I haven't heard more about fires around here already this Summer.

It seems no one has been in the best headspace lately.  The news is always awful, unless you're a monster or a republican.   I used to capitalize things like republican president.  You're supposed by the rules of the language.  But, by capitalizing those words, it implies a certain level of respect.  I have none left for those concepts.  For now, they stay lower case.

I really hate I live in a world where unless you enjoy celebrating horrors & atrocities, hearing the news is like been part of parade of pure wretched, vileness.  We should never cheer screaming, orange monsters.

I'm going to set here, drink my tea, watch the rain & listen to some music.

Yesterday Was Not Good...

It rained all day yesterday.  Last I checked it was up to 1.75" of rain.  Of course Weather.com says we only got .5".  The weather forecast last night said we might actually wake up to snow.  Now, we're just looking for freezing rain.  3 weeks into Spring & they call for snow.  I'm over the cold weather.

Suddenlink crapped out on us again yesterday.  It was out for over 6 hours.  I'm writing earlier in case this happens again today.  I hate this company.

Good things do come to an end.  The tulips I've enjoyed are losing their petals & fading.   Soon there  will just be some foliage.  I'll miss them.  This may be their last year ever.  They hadn't bloomed in years before this season.  I appreciate their appearance this year.

My roomy got some unwanted news yesterday.  I won't go into detail, it's her story.  But, I will say no one likes change forced onto them.

Yesterday, just wasn't a great day.

Last January Thursday...

It's a little hard to believe the January is almost over already.  This month has flown for me,   I guess being sick made em lose time.

The news side of things is still lacking.  People are still reacting to Trump.  According to some sources, Russia has decided it can't afford to foot the bill in the fight against HIV in their country.    Russia is considered the largest & fastest growing HIV population in Asia.  Yet, they think they have better things to spend their money on than fight HIV.  Good luck with that.

This article isn't directly about HIV.  It's another 1 over the microbiome.    Specifically, how the biome may tie into medical treatments across the board.  Interesting read.

Irks...

For the past several days, like the year before that, there's been a virtual flood of articles regarding PrEP & Truvada.   Funny thing is, just a little while back PrEP failed.   I blogged about it & numerous agencies reported it.   Still within a week (maybe a little more) the whole issue of PrEP failure had been cleared from the news & swept under the proverbial rug.

I didn't trust PrEP before.   Now with this vanishing of the failure, I trust it even less.  I still think PrEP will eventually fail in a catastrophic manner, until then it's a massive boon in profits for those pharmacy companies that develop them, think Gilead.  This corp plans on getting the cash while it can & then just getting.

What???

Its' weird, I'm no super blogger, I'm not even that on top of things I like to post about.  I try to stay current, but there's a lot out there I just don't come across some things in a timely manner.  Still, somehow I stay ahead of most news broadcasts.

I posted a few days ago about low teenage HIV testing numbers.  It wasn't until the next day the actual news ran a story on it.   Why is that?  This isn't the 1st occurrence I've had of being days to weeks ahead of televised news.

Is it they just have some much to say about crap news like the Kardashians or sports.  Or, could it be  HIV just doesn't merit timely reporting?  Either way, there's no reason why a blogger like myself should be ahead of the media on much of anything.  I may have my own takes on the info, but they should've ran with it way before I did.

Really important matters are often crowded out for sensational topics all the time.  We can't expect the news to be much of a source for anything these days.   Hell, they're not even that good at handling weather reports.  If there's something out there important to you & you need info on it, go research it yourself.  It's unlikely the media will ever cover it in a reasonable time frame.
