According to this article, a injected of medicine in a nanosuspension is being developed by Janssen. I have no idea how far off this med is, but I think it could be a wonderful thing. Aside from people who are sick of being on a leash of pills, this approach could be more suitable for many people without proper means of storing meds, such as the homeless.
The idea of 1 shot a month instead of numerous pills a day is liberating. No more worrying about missed doses or having to run home because I forgot my drugs. The more convenient we can make HIV meds the more apt people are to be on & stay on regimens.
This is something I'll keep my eyes on.
