IP = Too Much $...

In this article, Doctors Without Borders states intellectual property rights are keeping medications from becoming generic & therefore elevating the costs to treat 3rd world countries.  No surprise there.  These companies are mostly concerned with making $, not curing illnesses.

A new trade agreement, Trans-Pacific Trade, could actually make all this much worse.  This act could tighten the leash on people capable of producing generics.  It would allow for much greater leeway for those with IP rights.

In the end corporate greed will probably be the 1 thing keeps anyone from ever curing HIV.
