This article states the transmissions of HIV in the USA over the last decade have fallen 1/3. That is great news actually. However, it's not the only news.
The article goes on to say that the same rates did not trend down among gay men. This was mostly due to unprotected sex among the younger populations. With these young gay men, the major problems came from those who delayed testing (therefore treatment), ethnic groups who faced greater stigma & those without adequate access to healthcare. The same old marginalizing criteria are at play here, ethnicity, culture & poverty.
At least we are still trending down overall.
