This may be 2016, but according to this article, stigma & stupidity concerning HIV are raging across Asia. So nice to know stigma is alive & doing so abundantly well. In many of these Asian countries, the actions towards people living with HIV are heinous, inhuman & should be criminal.
Many doctors, social workers & other medical care workers are refusing to treat these people. Hard to call them patients if they aren't even being admitted to the hospitals. These victims of stubbornly, willing stupidity are being refused medical treatment from surgeries to basic care, even as far as not being allowed beds in the facilities. I guess an HIV+ person might infect the beds. Idiocy!
Unfortunately, most of these + people will probably die. Most of those ignorant bastards calling themselves medical professionals will continue to pronounce the rightness of their actions. All the while, HIV will continue to march through Asia.
A person can only hope some of these people pull their heads out, but that seems unlikely. My best wishes go out those suffering. I have nothing but contempt & ill will for those refusing to aid to these people. Maybe someday they'll be on the other side of the matter & see what it's like to be denied the most basic human decency.
