I was reading through articles today & it was a lot of the same old stuff. That seemed to be the point. It was the same old news. I noticed from reports of 72% of sex trade Johannesburg being + to the 219% jump in HIV rates in Boulder County, Colorado. It was really the same story. HIV is still here & we're not doing nearly enough about it.
The virus is spreading & disproportionately affecting those people living on the fringes. The extreme poor, isolated, under educated, culturally limited & ethnic are the most apt to contract HIV. The same old news.
Throughout the world this plays out as co-infections with illnesses like hepatitis are on the rise. The emergence of new illnesses like Zika. We can't get a grip on a virus we've known about since the 1980's, so how are we going to handle co-infections, resistant HIV & Zika?
